An established engineering firm specialising in bespoke solutions is seeking a CAD Technician to join its technical team. The company operates within the water, wastewater, industrial waste, and renewable energy sectors, delivering modular bolted steel tanks and double membrane gas holders across the UK and internationally. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to multiple concurrent engineering projects, working under the guidance of senior technical staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate engineering drawings and documentation using SolidWorks 3D CAD software, supporting both design and construction teams. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accurate 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and parts lists for assigned projects Work with standard components and develop bespoke items as required Ensure all deliverables comply with relevant national and international standards, as well as internal procedures Assist senior engineers in resolving technical queries and liaising with clients on project specifications Support procurement by providing clear documentation and specifications for sourcing materials Attend engineering team meetings and contribute to departmental objectives Understand and apply commercial considerations to engineering outputs, including cost control and specification compliance Functional Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and construction processes Awareness of health and safety considerations in design Understanding of the commercial impact of engineering decisions on project delivery Qualifications and Experience: Ideally qualified to BTEC ONC/OND or NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline Previous experience in a CAD technician or junior design role within a mechanical or construction environment is desirable Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work under supervision on multiple projects and meet deadlines Additional Information:
