We at Coforge are looking for Business Solution/Enterprise Architect with the following skillset:
We are seeking an experienced Solution / Enterprise Architect to support a large-scale underwriting transformation programme within the London Market insurance environment. This is a business-facing architecture role, operating at a strategic and solution level rather than a hands-on technical design or build position.
The role focuses on translating prioritised underwriting business capabilities into application, service, and solution mappings across the existing technology landscape. Working closely with senior business and technology leadership, the architect will help shape near- to medium-term delivery by providing structured architectural insight, gap analysis, and option evaluation to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Business Capability & Architecture Mapping
Own and evolve an existing prioritised underwriting business capability map
Translate business capabilities into:
Application mappings
Service-level mappings
High-level solution architectures
Align capabilities to existing platforms and applications rather than introducing new tooling in the short to medium term
Current-State & Gap Analysis
Develop a strong understanding of the current underwriting architecture and operating model
Identify functional and architectural gaps against prioritised business capabilities
Evaluate how gaps should be addressed through:
Enhancements to existing systems
Introduction of new services or components
Selective adoption of third-party solutions
Option Evaluation & Design Support
Perform options analysis for different approaches to capability delivery
Articulate trade-offs, dependencies, and delivery considerations
Provide clear architectural recommendations to support realistic and executable delivery plans
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Partner closely with senior leadership, including the programme lead, as a trusted architecture advisor
Collaborate with multiple delivery teams, including:
Core application teams
Strategic analytics
Actuarial teams
Facilitate alignment between business and technology stakeholders on capability ownership and implementation approach
What This Role Is Not
Not a low-level or hands-on technical architecture role
No coding or solution build responsibility
Emphasis is on architectural reasoning, business capability translation, and decision support rather than detailed technical design
Required Experience & Skills
Core Experience
Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect in complex transformation programmes
Strong expertise in business capability modelling and mapping
Experience within insurance underwriting environments
Ability to operate effectively with senior, business-facing stakeholders
Desirable Domain Experience
London Market insurance experience (strongly )
Previous involvement in underwriting workbench initiatives
Strong understanding of underwriting workflows, capabilities, and decisioning processes
Personal Attributes
Comfortable working in ambiguous, early-stage design environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Able to distil complex information into clear, actionable insights
Pragmatic, analytical, and delivery-focused mindset
Engagement Context
The role supports an active underwriting transformation programme where:
Strategy has already been defined
The focus is on delivering prioritised capabilities using existing platforms
