Sustainability Consultant\n\nLocation: Remote\nSalary: £35,000 - £40,000\nHours: Full-time, permanent\n\nPenguin Recruitment are a representing a fast-growing, multidisciplinary consultancy within the built environment who are seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join its expanding energy and sustainability division.\n\nWhat's Offered\n\nStructured training and development programme with clear progression milestones.\nFully remote working, with optional in-person meet-ups.\nCompany-provided equipment (laptop, phone).\nPrivate medical insurance.\nProfessional memberships covered (IES, Elmhurst, CIBSE).\n25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.\nQuarterly team days and industry events in London.\nExcellent long-term career growth opportunities, including leadership roles as the team expands. \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nComplete SAP and SBEM calculations and produce EPCs for domestic and non-domestic buildings.\nPrepare Energy Statements for planning submissions, including London Plan and regional compliance.\nConduct Overheating Assessments aligned with TM59 and TM52.\nSupport or lead on Whole Life-Cycle Carbon Assessments and Circular Economy Statements.\nUndertake daylight and sunlight modelling for residential and mixed-use schemes.\nAssist with Decarbonisation Reports and Net Zero Strategies for large commercial estates.\nLiaise with clients, local authorities, architects, and design teams, providing clear technical advice.\nSupport development of internal processes, templates, and methodologies.\nMentor junior assessors and contribute to building the future sustainability division.\nMinimum 2 years' experience in building energy modelling or sustainability consultancy.\nProficiency with IES-VE, Elmhurst, or similar software (SAP/SBEM/TM59/TM52).\nStrong knowledge of UK Building Regulations Part L and relevant energy compliance standards.\nExperience preparing Energy Statements for planning.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Desirable:\n\nBREEAM experience (Assessor or AP) - training and requalification supported.\nFamiliarity with OneClick LCA, TM54, or ESOS energy auditing.\nExperience with Whole Life-Cycle Carbon or Decarbonisation reporting.\nKnowledge of daylight/sunlight or natural ventilation modelling. \n\nInterested in this or any other Sustainability and Energy roles, please do not hesitate to contact Caitlin Richards.\n\nThis is a permanent role.\n\nPenguin Recruitment is operating as a Recruitment Agency in respect to this position
