Behaviour support Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a school in Blackburn. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children manage their behaviour and reach their full potential.
The Role
You will be supporting pupils who may struggle with challenging behaviour and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, working both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Your role will be to help pupils stay engaged, develop coping strategies, and access their learning in a positive way.
Key Duties
Support students with behavioural and SEMH needs in and out of the classroom Use effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour Work closely with teaching staff to maintain a calm and structured environment Build positive relationships that support pupil development Track and share progress with staff members
What We're Looking For
Essential: Experience working with children Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour and/or SEMH A relevant qualification (e.g. TA, childcare, youth work, psychology) is desirable Calm, patient, and adaptable approach Strong teamwork and communication skills
