Associate / Senior Associate Electrical Engineer\n\n Location: Manchester\n\n The Role\n\n An award-winning multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate / Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to lead and grow the Building Services / M&E capability within one of its regional offices - Manchester\n\n This is a strategic leadership role combining technical delivery, team leadership and business development. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the growth of the Building Services offering locally, working closely with the wider architectural, surveying and engineering teams to deliver integrated design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.\n\n The consultancy provides a wide range of professional services across the built environment, including architecture, structural engineering, building surveying, project management and building services engineering. \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n Leadership & Office Growth\n\nLead and develop the Building Services / M&E offering within the regional office.\nAct as the technical lead for electrical engineering across projects.\nWork with Directors and Partners to grow the Building Services team and service line.\nSupport recruitment, mentoring and development of engineers and technicians.\nRepresent the Building Services discipline within the office leadership structure.\nTechnical Delivery\n\nLead the electrical design and coordination of building services systems including power, lighting, life safety and specialist systems.\nDeliver projects across multiple sectors including public sector, education, residential, commercial and infrastructure.\nOversee designs from feasibility through to detailed design and construction stages.\nEnsure compliance with UK building regulations, industry standards and sustainability targets.\nCollaborate with architecture, structural and surveying teams to deliver fully integrated project solutions.\nClient & Project Leadership\n\nAct as Project Lead or Technical Lead on multidisciplinary projects.\nMaintain and develop strong relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders.\nProvide strategic technical advice to clients on energy efficiency, low carbon design and building performance.\nAttend client meetings, design team meetings and site visits.\nBusiness Development\n\nSupport and contribute to regional business growth and client development.\nAssist in preparing proposals, tender submissions and framework bids.\nIdentify opportunities to expand Building Services services within the office and wider practice.\n\n Requirements\n\n Experience\n\nSignificant experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.\nExperience delivering projects across multiple RIBA work stages.\nProven ability to lead projects and mentor engineering teams.\nExperience working within multi-disciplinary design environments.\nTechnical Skills\n\nStrong knowledge of:\nElectrical distribution systems\nLighting design\nLife safety systems\nBuilding regulations and industry standards\nSustainable and low-carbon design principles\n\nFamiliarity with BIM and digital design environments (e.g.
