Assistant Management Accountant

Salary: Up to £34,000
Location: North Birmingham (Hybrid working)

An established organisation based in North Birmingham is seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is a broad, hands‑on role offering strong exposure across month‑end accounting, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement within a collaborative finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments, journals, cost allocations and reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations
Support and delivery of month‑end close activities
Management of multiple bank accounts, including weekly bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
Support with foreign currency transactions
Preparation and support for statutory and regulatory submissions, including VAT returns, P11Ds and other required filings
Reporting and analysis
Support the wider Finance team during audit cycles

About You

AAT qualified
Relevant accounting or finance experience
Able to work proactively and independently, as well as collaboratively within a team
Comfortable taking ownership of tasks with a high level of complexity
Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical skills
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
