Assistant Management Accountant

Salary: Up to £34,000
Location: North Birmingham (Hybrid working)

An established organisation based in North Birmingham is seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is a broad, hands‑on role offering strong exposure across month‑end accounting, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement within a collaborative finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments, journals, cost allocations and reconciliations
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Support and delivery of month‑end close activities
• Management of multiple bank accounts, including weekly bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
• Support with foreign currency transactions
• Preparation and support for statutory and regulatory submissions, including VAT returns, P11Ds and other required filings
• Reporting and analysis
• Support the wider Finance team during audit cycles

About You

• AAT qualified
• Relevant accounting or finance experience
• Able to work proactively and independently, as well as collaboratively within a team
• Comfortable taking ownership of tasks with a high level of complexity
• Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
