Location: Central London (Hybrid - 2 days office / 3 days remote)
Salary: up to circa 60,000 + package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Cost Manager to join a dynamic and respected consultancy who are supporting a key client in the delivery of major complex construction project.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to develop hands-on experience within a collaborative, fast-paced project environment - with clear progression opportunities and exposure to complex, multi-disciplinary work.
About the Role:
As an Assistant Cost Manager, you'll work alongside experienced Cost Managers and Senior Cost Managers, assisting with the full range of cost management duties throughout the project lifecycle. From cost planning and estimating to reporting and contract administration, you'll play an integral role in ensuring the project's commercial success.
This is a hybrid role - with 2 days per week office-based in London and the remainder working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of cost plans, estimates, and tender documentation
- Support in the review of contractor applications and cost reporting
- Contribute to risk and value management exercises
- Help monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
- Attend client and project team meetings, taking minutes and supporting commercial actions
- Work towards professional development goals, with mentorship and guidance from senior colleagues
About You:
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
- 1-3 years' experience in a cost management / quantity surveying role within a consultancy or contractor environment
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to develop your skills on major projects
- Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
