Africell, the pan-African mobile telecommunications company, is recruiting an AI Specialist to be based in London, UK.
The role is responsible for:
- Partnering with Commercial, Marketing, Sales, Digital, and Customer Value Management (CVM) teams to identify high-ROI AI use cases and translate them into production solutions.
- Building and deploying models for churn/retention, propensity-to-buy, next-best-offer/action, CLV, uplift modeling, and cross/upsell.
- Improving campaign performance through audience selection, budget allocation, offer personalization, and timing/frequency optimization.
- Developing customer segmentation (RFM, behavioral clustering, geo/device/value segments) and maintain segment definitions in CRM/CDP.
- Creating pricing and promo analytics: elasticity, discount optimization, bundle recommendations, and competitor impact analysis (where data exists).
- Delivering experimentation at scale: A/B testing design, holdout strategy, incrementality measurement, and post-campaign reporting.
You will work with the Commercial, Marketing, Sales, Digital and Customer Value Management teams to achieve the contribution to Africell’s mission of bringing affordable, fast, and secure mobile connectivity to millions of customers across Africa.
The ideal applicant will be skilled in Churn reduction, retention rate improvement; ARPU Uplift, conversion uplift, incremental revenue; Campaign ROI, win-back rate, cross-sell/upsell take-up; Faster Go to market. You will also have at least 5 years’ experience in:
- Using AI tools in commercial
- Hands-on experience with marketing/customer analytics: segmentation, propensity, churn, and campaign measurement.
- Solid understanding of experiment design (A/B tests, holdouts, incrementality).
- Ability to explain results to commercial stakeholders and influence decisions.
