We are working with a leading engineering organisation in the water sector who are looking to appoint a
Technical Specialist
Wastewater (Mechanical Bias)
to act as a key technical authority within their process engineering team. This is a high-impact role supporting major infrastructure and treatment projects, with responsibility for driving technical excellence, innovation, and best practice across the business.
The role You will act as the
go-to expert
for wastewater engineering, with a particular focus on the
mechanical aspects of treatment systems and plant design .
Key responsibilities include: Providing expert technical input to bid and delivery teams Supporting the design and specification of
mechanical equipment
(pumps, pipework, sludge handling systems, etc.) Acting as a focal point for complex technical challenges across wastewater projects Assessing and implementing new and emerging treatment technologies Supporting development of engineering standards and best practice Liaising with external technology providers and equipment suppliers Contributing to innovation and R&D initiatives About you
Strong background in
mechanical engineering within the water/wastewater sector Proven experience in a senior / principal / specialist engineering role Experience working with
treatment plant equipment and mechanical systems Understanding of wastewater/process engineering principles Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly Desirable: Chartered status (CEng) or working towards Membership of a relevant professional institution
