Accounts Payable Assistant

Job Description
Vertex Associates are proud to be partnering with a commercial property business in hiring an Accounts Payable Assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract. There will be a requirement to attend the office full time for training purposes (first 6-8 weeks), before moving to a hybrid position consisting of 3 days per week in the office.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure all invoices (including subcontractors) are distributed, coded and approved in line with policy
- Deal with staff expense claims and corporate credit cards
- Deal with emails and queries from suppliers and the wider business
- Produce weekly and manual sub-contractor and expense payment runs as requested
- Complete statement, balance sheet and expense reconciliations
- Accurate data entry, including manual supplier invoice entry, manual supplier credit notes and daily banking
- Comply with all existing KPI’s and SLA’s
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within finance and the wider business
Requirements:
- At least 3 years’ experience within an Accounts Payable role
- Confident and assertive interpersonal skills from senior management to external suppliers
- Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all financial and team deadlines are met, within a fast paced environment
- Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
- Pro-active, with the ability to use initiative and work autonomously and as part of a wider team
- Team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients
- Willing to learn/actively pursue further training
- Good IT skills especially on Excel (V look ups and pivot tables)
- Experience of SAP would be advantageous, but not essential
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
