DEPARTMENT: BBC Children's and Education
LOCATION: Salford - Hybrid
SALARY RANGE: £24,600 - £31,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEWe're looking for creative and strategically minded YouTube Researcher to join our YouTube team within the BBC Children's and Education department. This is an exciting opportunity to help craft engaging content that amplify our BBC Children's and Education shows and talent to 0-12 year olds on biggest video platform.

We are on a mission is to grow our brands and talent on YouTube and BBC iPlayer, drive reach and communicate the value of the BBC to existing and new audiences.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Research and support the development of original engaging YT format ideas and content briefs for 0-12 year olds across our portfolio of BBC Children's and Education YT channels, aligning with our tone of voice, editorial values
- Help set up shoots and oversee editing of pilot formats and 'taster' videos to test out ideas and support commissioning process.
- Support the management of our YouTube channels, uploading new content, creating engaging thumbnails and writing SEO optimised video titles and description metadata.
- Help track content and channel performance using YouTube studio and analytics tools, looking out for trends and sharing insights with the wider team.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Experience using editing and design software - ideally Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects)
- Understanding of YouTube content and what works for younger viewers, including top trends in news and education content for kids.
- Organised, proactive and up for pitching in whenever needed in a busy and fast paced team.
- Knowledge of YouTube products and features, including live streams, shorts and podcasting.
- A keen interest in data and audience research and how to translate it into creative ideas.
