Desian Education are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based three-form entry junior school with an outstanding reputation as they are looking to appointment a fully qualified teaching assistant for a long-term full-time contract. This position is based in a Year 5 class, will start after the Easter holidays and will last the remainder of the academic year.
Your new role
In this school you will be joining a year 5 class, supporting the class teacher in the delivery of engaging and stimulating learning by differentiating learning material and utilising an array of learning equipment. The pupils within this class are extremely loving but can at times push boundaries and become disengaged in the learning. To promote behaviours within the class you will build strong constructive relationships with your pupils by getting to know them as individuals and implementing an array of behaviour strategies with a focus on movement and break breaks. Other duties will include:
Delivering of 1:1 and small group interventions in core subjects
Small group interventions with lower/mixed ability pupils within a separate classroom
Liaising with class teach on pupil’s progress
What you need to succeed
Full “Right to Work” in the UK
Be NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
Good knowledge of the UKS2 national curriculum
Experience managing xehkeey behaviours that challenge
Be willing to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check
