Your new companyHays Education is supporting a welcoming and community-driven primary school in the Preston area to recruit an experienced Year 4 Teacher for an immediate start. This position will run on a long-term basis until at least the end of the academic year, with a strong possibility of extension into September or even a permanent appointment for the right candidate.This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed practitioner who is confident, resilient and ready to take on a rewarding challenge.Your new roleYou will take full responsibility for a Year 4 class with high levels of SEN and additional needs, requiring a teacher who can provide structure, consistency and a nurturing approach. The class benefits from supportive leadership and additional staffing, but it is a demanding environment that needs a calm, skilled and adaptable teacher.Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
• Working closely with support staff, SENCO and senior leaders
• Using assessment to track progress and inform next steps
• Building strong relationships with pupils and families

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum expectations
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or behavioural needs
• A resilient, patient and proactive approach
• Ability to establish routines and maintain high expectations
