We are currently seeking a Worship Support Assistant, to join our Virgers team in one of the most iconic buildings in the world, St Pauls Cathedral. Hours: Full time 35 hours per week. Occasional weekend working. Contract is based on hours of work as set out in the Virgers rota. Term: Fixed Term

12 months Responsibilities As part of the team working alongside the Virgers, youll play an active role in delivering exceptional worship experiences at St Pauls Cathedral. Youll ensure services run flawlessly, spaces are inviting and well-presented, and clergy and Virgers have the support they need. From setting up and coordinating movement to managing lighting and sound systems, youll help create an atmosphere that is both welcoming and inspiring for worshippers and guests alike. The Worship Support Assistant will include, but is not limited to: Preparing worship spaces for daily offices, Eucharists, Sunday services, and major festivals. Operating sound and lighting systems during services (training provided). Assisting with laundry, pressing, and presentation of robes and vestments. Offering a warm, respectful welcome to worshippers and guests. Providing administrative support to the liturgical directorate. Supporting facilities and ensuring safety standards are maintained. Person specification The success applicant will have: Experience in a fast-paced operational setting (e.g., events, hospitality, building operations, theatre). Demonstrable customer facing experience skills. Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively in a team. Proficient in using Microsoft Office. Physically fit and comfortable with tasks involving lifting, carrying, stairs, and occasional work at height. Keen eye for detail in maintaining spaces and presenting items. Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
