Workshop Controller Wanted!
Location: Derby| Full Time
Salary: £45K-£48K + Bonus + Progression |Rotating Shifts

We’re working with a well-established commercial vehicle dealership in Derby, operating a busy 7-ramp workshop with a team of skilled technicians. They’re looking for a Workshop Controller to take ownership of the day-to-day operation and be the link between the workshop, customers, and the commercial team.

This is a great opportunity for someone coming off the tools who still wants to stay close to the action while leading from the front.

Roles & Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day running of a 7-ramp workshop
Allocate work effectively and keep jobs on track
Act as the bridge between customers, the commercial team, and technicians
Support with complex faults and diagnostic issues when needed
Drive productivity, quality, and efficiency across the workshop
Create energy on the shop floor – motivate and lead the team
Support and develop apprentices and junior technicians

Requirements

Time-served HGV / Commercial Vehicle Technician
Looking to step up or already in a supervisory role
Strong diagnostics and technical ability
Background in a main dealer environment (Mercedes-Benz experience ideal)
Confident in work allocation and workshop coordination
A natural leader who can organise, motivate, and drive standards
