The Role As a SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 support to a Reception-aged pupil with SEND/SEMH needs Support the child’s emotional, social and academic development Implement strategies to promote engagement, regulation and positive behaviour Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider staff team Support transitions, routines and learning within the classroom environment Maintain accurate observations and contribute to support plans Ensure safeguarding, welfare and health and safety procedures are followed at all times Requirements To be considered, you must have: Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs Experience working 1:1 with children, ideally in EYFS or early primary A calm, patient and nurturing approach Strong behaviour support and emotional regulation skills The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children A professional, reliable and committed attitude A genuine interest in working overseas on a long-term basis Relevant SEND, SEMH or Teaching Assistant qualifications are highly desirable.
