Are you an experienced engineer looking for a hands-on, highly skilled role in a fast-paced, precision engineering environment? Our specialist manufacturing client in Suffolk is seeking a Wire Erosion Technician to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on both routine tooling work and innovative prototype development.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming, setting, and running wire erosion and spark erosion machines to meet production deadlines and quality standards Prioritising workloads and collaborating with senior management on prototype fixtures and conversion components Supporting the tool repair team, ensuring production-critical tooling is turned around quickly and efficiently Reworking incorrectly manufactured parts to meet required specifications Carrying out routine machine maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain performanceThe Ideal Candidate:
5+ years' experience operating and programming wire erosion/spark erosion machines (experience with Agie or Sodick advantageous but not essential) Strong attention to detail and confidence working from metric and imperial drawings Solid all-round engineering knowledge with excellent problem-solving skills Excellent communicator, able to work independently and within a close-knit team Disciplined, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentThis role offers the chance to work with leading technology for a company supporting realistic, force-on-force training for defense professionals worldwide.
