Job Description
Your new company \nA leading engineering and manufacturing organisation with a strong presence across the North West. Known for delivering high‑quality, safety‑critical products, they are investing in growth across their Manchester site and are now seeking an experienced Welding Engineer to support production, quality, and continuous improvement activities.\nYour new role \nAs the Welding Engineer, you will play a key role in overseeing welding processes, procedures, and compliance across the site. You will work closely with production, quality, and design teams to ensure all welded components meet required standards and are delivered to customer specification.\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nDeveloping, reviewing, and approving Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).\nProviding technical support to welders and production teams on welding techniques, materials, and best practice.\nConducting weld inspections and ensuring compliance with relevant codes (e.g., ISO, ASME, EN standards).\nSupporting customer and third‑party audits, ensuring documentation and certification are up to date.\nLeading root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions relating to weld quality issues.\nDriving continuous improvement across welding operations, including training and process optimisation.\nSupporting new product introduction, advising on weld feasibility, joint design, and material suitability.\nWhat you'll need to succeed \n\nDegree or HNC/HND in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.\nStrong working knowledge of welding processes such as MIG/MAG, TIG, MMA, or automated welding systems.\nExperience within a manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy engineering environment.\nFamiliarity with ISO 3834, EN 1090, ASME IX or equivalent standards.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to influence across departments.\nDesirable: CSWIP, PCN, IWS/IWT/IWE or similar qualifications.What you'll get in return \n\nCompetitive salary package with company benefits.\nOpportunity to work in a technically challenging environment within a growing organisation.\nClear routes for professional development, training, and accreditation support.\nA collaborative team culture and modern engineering facilities.What you need to do now \nIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
