Skilled Welder & General Fabricator
Location: Towcester (Workshop-based with occasional site work)
Salary: £16.50–£18.50 per hour
About Us
We are working with a family-owned business with strong growth plans, and we’re looking for an experienced, skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our team. This is a hands-on, varied role involving workshop fabrication as well as occasional on-site installation.
You’ll be involved in producing architectural metalwork such as bespoke staircases, handrails, balustrades, structural steel, and general fabricated components.
Pay & Benefits
• £16.50–£18.50 per hour (starting rate)
• Pension: 5% employee / 5% employer
• Overtime available
• Performance bonus
Working Hours
• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday — 7:00am to 4:00pm
• Two × 30‑minute breaks
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out MIG and TIG welding to company standards
• Interpret technical drawings and work independently or as part of a team
• Perform a wide range of fabrication processes in a workshop environment
• Operate cutting, drilling, rolling, grinding machinery and power tools
• Deliver materials and finished goods to sites when required
• Install fabricated metalwork on customer sites to a high standard
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Follow and support Health & Safety practices
• Assist with additional tasks and contribute to continuous improvement
Skills, Experience & Attributes
• 5+ years’ welding and fabrication experience
• Coded MIG welder certification (can be achieved on the job)
• TIG welding experience desirable
• Full UK driving licence
• Good numerical skills and attention to detail
• Physically fit and able to work independently
• Forklift licence and previous site experience desirable
• Punctual, self‑motivated, proactive and solution‑focused
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a positive team attitude
