Social network you want to login/join with: FIFTH SEASON Television Distribution (TVD) is seeking a Vice President of Acquisitions to lead the sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of premium television content - both scripted and unscripted - for global distribution. This executive will play a critical role in shaping and expanding TVD's content pipeline, securing market-relevant, high-quality programming that supports the company's strategic, commercial, and creative objectives. Role Responsibilities: Support the SVP in managing acquisitions budgets, ensuring deals are financially sound and aligned with ROI goals. Identify content gaps and emerging trends in the market ensuring the strategy aligns with the business goals and sales needs. Conduct ongoing analysis of competitor content strategies to help maintain a competitive edge in the global marketplace. Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Operations to ensure smooth deal execution, content launches, and rights tracking. Manage and maintain strong working relationships with producers, agents, financiers, and content creators to source high-quality programming. Lead negotiations on selected licensing and distribution deals, securing favorable terms and managing key deal components including exclusivities, payments, and back-end participation. Provide regular updates to the SVP on deal status, strategic opportunities, and any challenges or financial implications. Coordinate closely with Scripted Television Strategy, Studio (US/UK), Docs, and Film divisions to ensure alignment from development through distribution. Act as a brand ambassador who will professionally represent FIFTH SEASON at industry conventions, screenings, and events. Ensure our business partners receive regular reporting, updates and support as required. Contribute to cross-functional efforts and ad hoc initiatives as required. Travel domestically and internationally as and when required. Requirements: Extensive experience in content acquisition, programming and/or distribution. Analytical, commercially minded, and strategically driven. Proven track record of acquiring and launching commercially successful titles. Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and the ability to react quickly, dynamically, and intelligently. Deep understanding of global TV markets and evolving distribution models. Established network of relationships with content producers, studios and industry leaders. Flexibility to work across different time zones. Deep understanding and enthusiasm for entertainment, with a respect for its creative and commercial value. Positive, energetic, and resilient with a drive for continuous learning and growth. Language skills an added bonus.
