Full-time, Permanent | On-site in Cannock | Charity Sector
Make a difference every day, lead, inspire, and create opportunities for others.
We’re looking for a passionate Volunteer Centre Team Leader to take on a meaningful leadership role within a busy, rewarding environment. This is your chance to step into a role where you’ll manage a bustling Volunteer Centre that welcomes up to 32 volunteers a day. No two days are the same – and your skills will directly contribute to a mission that changes lives.
What makes this role special?
As Volunteer Centre Team Leader, you’ll: Lead and motivate a team of Volunteer Support Assistants, ensuring every volunteer feels welcomed, valued, and supported. Create an inclusive space where people from all backgrounds and abilities can contribute their time and skills. Oversee the flow of stock, ensuring donated items are processed and ready for sale to support vital work in the charity sector. Champion safety and wellbeing, ensuring a safe environment through clear processes and ongoing training. Bring people together, organising volunteer engagement events and collaborating with corporate partners. This isn’t a desk-only role; you’ll be hands-on, involved in everything from stock movement to volunteer recruitment, and at the heart of a warm, dedicated team.
Is this you?
You’ll thrive in this role if you can demonstrate: Leadership skills - experience supervising or managing staff/volunteers in a busy environment. Strong communication – confident in engaging with a wide range of people, from volunteers to corporate partners. Safeguarding and Health & Safety knowledge – ideally with experience of applying policies and procedures in a team or community setting. Organisation and adaptability – able to balance competing priorities, stay calm under pressure, and ensure smooth operations day-to-day. Compassion and inclusivity – approachable, empathetic, and committed to creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities. Volunteer and/or charity sector understanding – experience working with volunteers, supporting people with different needs, or knowledge of how volunteering supports wider organisational goals. Practical skills – comfortable with hands-on tasks such as stock handling, logistics, and maintaining safe and efficient processes. This role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential; please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help with making the application process work for you.
