Job Description

Fulltime dental veterinary surgeon at Luna the Dental Vets

With a 100% focus on first-opinion dental care, Luna the Dental Vets is a unique independent small animal practice based in a popular, well-connected area of Bristol, and is now seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its passionate, forward-thinking team.

This is a sole charge, full-time position, working closely with two confident and proactive RVNs who are fully empowered to support the delivery of exceptional clinical care.

Luna the Dental Vets

Co-founded by veterinary entrepreneur Dr Joe Inglis, Luna is on a mission to tackle dental disease in dogs and cats, which is the number one health issue affecting the nation’s pets, by making high-quality dental care more accessible and affordable.  Driven by Joe and a passionate clinical team, Luna is transforming dentistry for pet from being an over-priced sideline in general practice to a fundamental and affordable part of routine pet care for all pet parents.

What makes Luna different?

By focusing 100% on dentistry, Luna offers two clear advantages over traditional general practice: better quality of care and lower cost for clients.

The successful candidate will be joining a practice that:

·       Carries out 4 or more dentals per day, with a mix of routine hygiene procedures and therapeutic surgical dentals

·       Runs preventative care programs, including the Luna Dental Health Club, and regular teeth brushing classes for pet owners

·       Supports RVNs working to their full Schedule 3 potential, including scale and polish procedures

·       Offers clear clinical development pathways for all staff

·       Prioritises collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement over corporate targets

The role

This is a permanent, full-time position for a qualified veterinary surgeon, with:

·       40 hours per week (5 x 8-hour days or 4 x 10 hours)

·       No weekends or out-of-hours

·       Sole charge responsibility, with strong RVN support

·       100% dentistry

·       Opportunities to shape and lead in the delivery of gold-standard dental care

Applicants should have:

·       A minimum of 3 years’ experience in small animal practice

·       Confidence in and passion for all aspects of first-opinion dentistry

·       A team-focused mindset, ready to collaborate with and support autonomous RVNs

·       Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for improving pet welfare

What’s on offer:

·       £60,000 salary (depending on experience)

·       CPD fully funded and encouraged, particularly in dentistry

·       Opportunity to lead in a revolutionary dental-first clinic

·       Career development within a fast-growing startup environment

·       Supportive, empowered team environment

·       No weekend or out-of-hours work

·       Practice located in a thriving and desirable part of Bristol
