About us:
Our stable, longstanding standalone practice is based in the heart of Castleford. You will be joining an experienced team of 2 other vets, Chris the practice owner and Veronica. Both bring a wealth of experience including Chris having a certificate in Small Animal Surgery, they are passionate about expanding their knowledge and are happy to support the development of their colleagues. Alongside the vets there is a team of 6 RVNs all of which are very experienced and hold a collection of certificates including Anaesthetic and Analgesia, one of our very experienced nurse is also an SQP.
As a practice we believe in providing the best care possible to all our clients and due to this we like to share ideas, discuss protocols and ensure every voice is heard!
Our commitment to client care means we have a loyal and friendly client base with a good percentage of insured pets so get to keep cases in house where appropriate. We are also a cat friendly practice.
The practice is located in Castleford. Castleford is a wonderful town within the City of Wakefield district which is ideally situated within a commutable distance from Leeds and the historical city of York. Castleford is known for being a hub of Rugby League but it has so much more to offer with local markets and attractions being on your doorstep and some breathtaking scenery a short drive away Castleford is offering a wonderful work life balance for people in the local community.
The Role:
As a supportive practice we are always interested in hearing from local talent interested in working with us, because everyone is at different stages in their veterinary career, we are open to speak to anyone. So, if you are an experienced vet looking to progress your career we can support further study or looking for a practice where you can mentor and support younger colleagues or a newer graduate looking for that practice to really help them develop please talk to us.
This role is ideally for full time with 4 days per week, you would also be asked to join the Saturday rota which is worked on a 1 in 3 basis with shorter hours of 9am to 5pm and this will be sole charge. There are no OOHs, Sundays and bank holidays will be worked on a rota basis.

- This role would ideally suit an experienced vet who is looking to join a practice that will support their development however we know everyone is at different stages of their career so talk to us about how we can support you
- This role is ideally for 4 days a week and will include 1 in 3 Saturdays, however if you are looking for part time we are open to discuss this
- No OOH, Sundays
- Bank holidays are worked on a rota basis
- You will be supported by a very experienced team which allow the days to run as smoothly as possible
- As a practice we love to support your development so we are happy to support CPD and certificates
- As a practice we pride ourselves on supporting all our clients, their pets and colleagues to the best of our ability and have been awarded as an Autism friendly clinic
- Excellent rates of pay up to £75,000 (FTE, DOE)
