Shift: 1 st Shift (8:30AM – 5:30PM (M-F))
NOTE - Hiring Manager is looking for 2-3 years of industry experience. Doesn’t want someone that’s been in the industry for 10-15 years
Job Summary:
The Software Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that software products meet the required standards and specifications before release. This role involves planning, designing, executing, and documenting testing activities to verify and validate software functionalities, identify defects, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement software verification and validation plans, protocols, and procedures.
Design, write, and execute test cases based on software requirements and specifications.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
Document test results and maintain traceability between requirements and test cases.
Participate in reviews of requirements, design, and code to ensure testability and compliance.
Ensure software meets quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, IEC, FDA, etc.).
Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation activities related to software quality.
Develop, maintain and improve automated testing frameworks and tools.
Provide input into continuous improvement of V&V processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Experience in software testing, verification, and validation (V&V).
Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
Proficiency of automation tools and scripting (e.g., Window Powershell , Python, Selenium, etc.)
Familiarity with Windows Domain configurations and maintenance
Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive) is desirable.
Skills:
Experience with regulatory standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, DO-178C).
Knowledge of risk management and quality assurance principles.
Experience in Agile or Waterfall development environments.
Work Environment:
May involve collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, product managers, and regulatory specialists.
Some roles may require occasional travel or work in lab environments.
HIRING MANAGER’s NOTE:
This is an Automation position. Lab Automation. This role will help to accelerate testing.
Many of the tests are manual, with 2 parts. A manual part and a web-based interface (which they are working to automate). Which is why Selenium and Python are critical.
Soft Skills: Manager has 4 engineers under him; lowest tenure of group is 8 years. He's looking for someone that can communicate well, specifically that'll be able to join team of experienced engineers and be willing to learn and able to integrate. He values longevity and personal connections and all the soft skills that accompany those that join a team and stick with it. Not too concerned about the learning curve – more concerned about communication skills.
Looking for someone 2-3 years out of school
Finding that some candidates can articulate their current job well, which immediately turns him off. Needs to be able to hear and comprehend what is being explained.
Doesn’t want someone that’s been in the industry for 10-15 years
Want candidate to be able to jump around projects once trained, so believes relatively greener candidate would be best (2-3 years of industry experience. Not neccesarily Med Device)
