Vehicle Management Service Lead

12 Month Contract Midlands / Hybrid (Apply online only) p/d inside IR35

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable interim professional to lead the setup of a new centralised fleet and travel function. This position will be key to establishing the service, ensuring it meets operational demands, and supporting long-term sustainability and carbon reduction objectives.

Key priorities will include:

Overseeing the creation and rollout of the new service, delivering workstreams covering staffing, facilities, systems, policies, communications, infrastructure, vehicle replacement, grey fleet, and service innovation. Providing clear leadership to the core team. Designing and embedding fleet policies and operational frameworks. Managing budgets and contributing to strategic planning. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the service delivers value and meets operational needs. Representing the organisation at industry events to share best practice and explore innovative approaches.We are looking for someone who:

Has experience establishing or significantly reshaping a fleet function within the public sector. Brings proven project and programme management skills, with a record of delivering change in complex environments.
