About the Role
With the expanding sales market planned for Changan Auto vehicles we are looking for a Principal Engineer / Technical Specialist in Vehicle Dynamics CAE, to provide expert direction and support to achieve best industrial practice in the simulation of vehicle dynamics. The successful candidate will have a leading role in simulation of handling and steering of Changan products.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or equivalent accredited program Minimum 8 years’ experience in the simulation of vehicle dynamics for or in an OEM environment Expert in the construction and correlation of system level and full vehicle multi-body simulation models Expert in the simulation of handling and steering and good experience in ride simulation. Expert in the construction and use of low degree of freedom models (e.g. CarMaker, CarSim, CarRealTime) Experience in using system targets to synthesize an appropriate suspension system. Experience in simulating standard vehicle dynamics manoeuvres and reporting the results in a suitable form for analysis by vehicle engineers. Experience in using models of varying complexity to suit the needs of the project (e.g. implementing additional component compliances to improve correlation, understanding where flex bodies are necessary, understanding uses and limitations of various tyre models) Experience with control system simulation would be an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills Able to make occasional trip abroad (China and Europe) to support implementation of best practice simulation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for Simulation & Modelling in collaboration with the team based in China. Lead the Vehicle Performance Analysis for ride, handling, and stability. Provide Design support and recommendation for geometry changes, collaborating with design, NVH and durability teams based in China. Test correlation and validation, working closely to vehicle dynamics testing team to correlate simulation results, including test inputs like K&C data, instrumental data etc. Report and communicate results verbally and via written report to peers and Senior Management.
