DESCRIPTION

Amazon is hiring for a VAT Manager, based in London, to support our Digital and Devices business lines in a VAT advisory role. The successful candidate will engage and partner with the Digital and Devices business teams to support current and future offerings across EMEA regions, including expansions, restructurings, ESS obligations for cross-border supplies of digital services, operating guidelines, and day-to-day questions. The candidate must be comfortable directly liaising with various business teams within the company, with an aim of gaining a deep understanding of the business vision and model in order to develop clear tax solutions in support of the business, develop tax requirements that clearly articulate such solutions, and drive the implementation of the tax requirements.

Key job responsibilities The ideal candidate will focus on indirect tax matters but will also have a base knowledge of direct tax and transfer pricing issues and how these can impact the business solution being articulated. The candidate will also work with other members of the global tax department to formulate and drive wider VAT/ indirect tax strategy, communicate current and future business plans, obtain cross-functional tax subject matter input, and ensure coordination of cross-functional tax solutions.
