An elite U.S. law firm is seeking a talented and driven U.S.-qualified M&A Associate to join its high-performing London office. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on complex, cross-border transactions within a globally recognised corporate practice. The role offers significant exposure to high-profile M&A matters, with additional opportunities to work on venture capital transactions, particularly within the technology sector.


Responsibilities


  • Advise clients on a broad range of public and private M&A transactions, including cross-border deals.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents such as purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and ancillary documentation.
  • Support deal execution from inception through to completion, including due diligence, structuring, and closing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients, including private equity sponsors, corporates, and institutional investors.
  • Assist on venture capital transactions, including early- and late-stage investments.
  • Coordinate with international offices and manage multi-jurisdictional aspects of transactions.
  • Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments relevant to M&A and corporate law.


Qualifications


  • U.S. qualified lawyer
  • 2–6 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in M&A at a leading international or U.S. law firm.
  • Strong experience in handling complex M&A transactions, ideally with cross-border exposure.
  • Exposure to or interest in the technology sector is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in venture capital transactions is beneficial but not required.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commercially astute with strong client-facing skills.
