As a Cancer Pathway Navigator at Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring patients move smoothly, safely and swiftly from suspicion of cancer through to diagnosis and onward care.Acting as a single point of contact during the early stages of the pathway, you will coordinate tests, appointments and admissions, proactively identifying and resolving delays to help deliver the 28-day Faster Diagnosis Standard. Working closely with clinicians, MDT coordinators and operational teams, you will ensure every step is aligned, timely and patient-focused.Compassion and communication are at the heart of this role. You will support patients and families with empathy and clarity, keeping them informed, reducing anxiety and ensuring they feel heard and supported throughout.Highly organised and proactive, you will manage complex information across multiple IT systems, maintain accurate documentation and escalate concerns where needed. You will work in close unison with the Urologyteam to ensure the co-ordination and management of patients at all points of their Cancer referral pathway. You willensure no patient has unnessesary delays in their pathway & escalate anyforeseen delays to the directorate management team.Key Duties:The post holderwill work independently within the remit of the role but under the guidance andsupervision of the Directorate Management team.To work using own initiative with minimal supervision,prioritising own workload in line with objectives of the department andconsultant teams.To support the Directorate Management Team with theadministration, tracking and validation of patients pathways to achieve the nationalcancer targets.
