Overview
Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and committed Unqualified Science Teacher to join a highly supportive SEN secondary setting in Southampton. This full-time role begins April 2026, running for the duration of the summer term, with a strong possibility of continuing into the next academic year.
You will be teaching Science to Key Stage 3 learners in small groups of around 3–5 students, supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant. The school welcomes applicants who may not yet hold QTS but have experience teaching or tutoring Science, particularly in SEN environments.

Role Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons to KS3 students in small groups. Support pupils with SEMH and ASD needs, promoting an inclusive learning environment. Plan and adapt lessons according to individual student needs. Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and SEN specialists. Contribute positively to a nurturing and values-driven classroom culture.
Ideal Candidate
Experience teaching or tutoring Science (KS3, GCSE Foundations, or Functional Skills). Previous experience supporting students with SEN, particularly SEMH or ASD (desirable). Strong communication and behaviour management skills. A proactive, empathetic approach to supporting learners. A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one.
