We are currently working in partnership with a prestigious University in the North-West, who are looking to appoint a Solicitor within their Student Affairs team on a 12-month locum basis.This will be a full-time position paying circa £350 - £400 p/day, and they are looking for someone to attend the office on a weekly basis, but may be able to consider remote options.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within Higher Education, and have a current practising certificate.Duties will include (but are not limited to):Advising on a wide variety of student legal matters, including discrimination, negligence, intellectual property rights, harassment and rules of natural justiceActing as a key legal point of contact within the University and develop a strong network of internal and external contacts at the highest levelProviding legal advice on a variety of issues to the University, both upon request and by proactively disseminating advice to contacts in academic, administrative and service departmentsAdvising in-house clients on any legal issues, including student services and admissions departmentsProviding specialist legal advice on consumer protection laws matters as they affect the University and its studentsExperience required:Experience required in Higher Education (desirable) #J-18808-Ljbffr
