Reporting to the Treasury Manager, the Treasury Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the Treasury Team provision and effectively leading a team of Banking and Sales Ledger Administrators.The Treasury Supervisor is crucial in delivering exceptional customer service, whilst maintaining the financial viability of the business by ensuring that all required banking and sales ledger activities are being performed effectively by the team, and that correct procedures are being followed across the Group. The Treasury Supervisor is also key in creating a sense of ownership within the team ensuring a culture of continuous professional development, through actively encouraging, supporting, motivating and effective performance management.This permanent role is based upon 37.5hrs per week between Monday and Friday, which following a successful training and induction period will operate on a hybrid basis to include three days per week based onsite at our central offices in Letchworth.The Day to DayManaging the organisation and coaching of the Team including 1:1’s performance reviews and Personal Development plansData entry of financial transactionsEnsure bank reconciliations are completed for the group, management of cash flow and paymentsObtain and reconcile transactions from bank accounts daily, including posting accounting transactions and reconciling group bank accountsReport on bank accounts, foreign currency, cash in transit and payments for month end reportingSupporting foreign currency – ordering, approval requests from MD and managing foreign cash flow with purchasing and accounts payableDaily and weekly cash flow forecasting for submission to ItochuRaising journals on any banking differences on a monthly basisSending Daily bank balance to management, inputting actuals with description of receipt/paymentsMonitoring payments out of bank and highlighting any unrecognised items for fraudPosting month end banking accounting entries such as chargebacks and commissionSupport team with centre cash deposits reconciliation, payments on bank for various departments such as Payroll and Accounts PayableEnsure procedure documents are kept up to date and in line with current agreed processesFollowing internal audit requirements and keeping process up to dateAssist Treasury Manager with external audit queries related to bankingReview of the Retail Depot cash S/L accounts and ensuring staff resolve queries i.e. a/c’s with outstanding invoicesEnsuring amounts not recoverable are reported to Retail Area managers, and Accounts ReceivableResponsibility to contact Barclays with any query that may arise in Sales Ledger that concerns the bank account and resolve any issuesEnsure the period end close down for the sales ledger is completed on due dateSTS TDC Petty cash management timely each month for period closeEnsure queries are noted, managed and completed to a satisfactory conclusion, ensuring communication is offered to relevant partiesEnsure all inbound receipts are posted quickly and accurately to the correct account within the ledgerEnsure all banking sheets from external centres to the banking entry are reconciled reporting and managing those that do not reconcileReconcile all entries within the suspense account and ensuring these are cleared from the account timely- reporting any variances timelyWeekly unallocated cash reports to be reviewed, managed and or issued to necessary partiesReview end to end times - understanding variation causes and acting where necessaryEnsuring non-compliance is reported, including but not limited to, 5K Cash CollectionsLiaison with Credit team members and sales/ centres where necessary in order to resolve queries quicklyEnsure aged unallocated cash is accounted for and notedMaintain the team’s attendance records within agreed company timelines and proceduresConduct any disciplinary hearings in line with company policiesLead in the recruitment, induction and training new team membersProactively identify areas for improvement and contribute towards a culture of continuous improvementAttend and contribute to management/department meetings where requiredWho we're looking forRelevant people leadership and/or management experience, ideally in a finance/sales ledger/banking roleDemonstrable logical and analytical approach, with an excellent level of numeracyCapacity to maintain exceptional attention to detail whilst managing large sets of data and working to tight deadlinesAdvanced Excel user alongside good working knowledge of other MS packagesConfident and influential communicator, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levelsConfident in their ability to manage complex personnel and business situations gaining positive outcomesTeam orientated the ability to demonstrate resilience and build trustSense of responsibility, integrity and leading by exampleThe PerksPerformance related bonus33 days annual leave including bank holidays, increasing to 38 days with serviceExclusive discounts at major retailers, restaurants, holidays and much moreGenerous staff discounts for you and your familyAward-winning training and development, with fantastic career prospectsWide range of wellbeing support for you and your family
