The opportunity We have an opportunity for a Treasury & Balance Sheet Risk Manager to join us on the exciting and rewarding path we are taking here at Castle Trust Bank. We pride ourselves in being a fintech challenger bank, providing specialist property mortgages, retail finance lending and savings accounts to a variety of customers. This is a unique opportunity to join our Risk team to lead on the development of a comprehensive 2nd line capability to monitor and manage risks arising in the Treasury function and the overall Balance sheet of Castle Trust Bank, covering: Capital; Liquidity; Market (Interest Rates); Wholesale Credit; Accounting Volatility (behavioural and rates). You will maintain a robust risk framework, ensuring effective policies, limits and oversight across key risk drivers. This includes managing and challenging risk models, supporting regulatory submissions, and delivering clear reporting to ExCo and the Board. You’ll collaborate with Treasury, Finance and risk colleagues to provide strong first and second line challenge and drive effective risk management across the organisation. The role will be on a hybrid working arrangement, 3 days a week from our London office and the rest of the week from home. What we are looking for in you… Minimumrequirements:
Demonstrable experience working in the Treasury function of a retail bank and / or consultancy servicing the same Strong understanding of IRRBB risk Understanding of Liquidity risk, including PRA requirements in the context of a small‑medium sized bank Proven ability to negotiate and influence Strong numeracy skills and exposure to modelling / data / analytics Effective presentation skills
Desirable requirements:
Exposure to Accounting Volatility risk arising from models, assumptions and market indices embedded into accounting valuations Understanding of Accounting volatility Understanding of Capital risk including PRA requirements in the context of a small‑medium sized bank Understanding of Model Risk Management approaches Understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk Management Exposure to a small / medium size bank culture Relevant postgraduate degree or professional qualification
