Vacancy Ref: EM0385 Role: Transport Supervisor Location: Middlesex Salary: Negotiable (DOE) Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week (9am - 6pm, with a 1 hour lunch)
Overview: We are recruiting for an energetic and dynamic Transport Supervisor, who has a proven track record in managing a highly commercial operation in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for the transport and distribution operations and for providing excellent standards of service, efficiency, and performance through outstanding people management skills.
You will be leading and motivating the entire transport team and responsible for looking after 11+ vehicles.
During the initial training period you will be required to work an early AM shift to train alongside the Transport Manager, before then moving to your day-shift after the training period.

Duties: Responsible for getting the correct products in the right quantities, to the right locations, all at the right time. In charge of the day-to-day operations of the transport department. Efficiently managing a team of drivers and LCV's (Light Commercial Vehicles). Responsible for all the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles. Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation, and procedures to do with tacho-graph and towing etc. Being the first point of contact for all drivers. Making sure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained and serviced. Organizing vehicle checks. Regularly liaising with the delivery manager to ensure a smooth running of both departments. Maintaining accurate administrative records. Identifying operational issues, potential problems, and opportunities. Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently. Ensuring all site and customer objectives are achieved.
Key Competencies and Skills: Able to work an early AM shift or a couple of weeks during your training period (3am start) Able to operate effectively in a high-volume service driven transport operation. Possessing a good understanding of all relevant legal compliance and fleet controls. Strong understanding all of areas of the supply chain. Full understanding of transport operational systems. Detail conscious. Safety compliance. People management skills.
