We are hiring a Transport Planner to help lead the logistics and coordination of our specialist mixed vehicle fleet of HGV and Vans

What We are Looking For: Demonstrable experience as a Transport Planner in a similar transport planning or logistics management role. Significant knowledge of fleet management and legal compliance for haulage operations. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. A positive can-do attitude to problem solving. An initiative-taking attitude to future planning and workload challenges CPC qualification

would be

preferred

but is not essential if relevant skills and experience can be demonstrated. Key Responsibilities: Transport planning, coordination & oversee the efficient transportation of equipment to and from customer sites in a safe, timely and efficient manner always. Manage driver schedules that ensures compliance with all operational and legal standards whilst also maximising efficiency of vehicle loads and drivers hours. Smart utilisation of vehicles is critical to optimise our hire potential whilst also allowing workshop staff adequate timescales to prepare/repair equipment that is returned from customers sites. Above all we must also recognise the need for our drivers to enjoy a quality work/life balance. Maintain complete and accurate records of transport activities and logistics that satisfies the requirements of both the Companys own safety standards together with those required under our FORS Silver accreditation. Oversee vehicle maintenance (including defects rectification) and six-weekly inspection schedules, MOTs and vehicle replacement when required together with co-ordination of externally hired hauliers. Consult with workshop staff to co-ordinate equipment readiness with schedules. Support Hire Desk staff with a flexible and responsive approach that allows us to positively embrace all hire opportunities, maximising hire revenue potential. Play an active part in the Health & Safety culture within the business, proactively looking at areas of concern, identifying any poor standards or practices ensuring a continuously improving working environment.
