Role: Transport Planner
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

• Plan and schedule HGV routes across the UK to ensure maximum vehicle efficiency.

• Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to maintain smooth operations.

• React quickly to changing situations - breakdowns, delays, and last-minute bookings.

• Use of sub-contractors on haulage exchange

• Maintain accurate records of routes, timings, and load allocations.

• Proven experience planning HGV vehicles within a UK haulage company.

• Strong understanding of driver hours, WTD, and general transport regulations.

• Good geographical knowledge

• A natural problem solver who can balance cost, service, and compliance.

• Experience with TMS.
