We are looking for a Highway Designer / Designer with proven track record in development planning, delivering transport planning designs and ideally within a UK consultancy background. This role is designed for individuals with a passion for transport planning with a proactive, can-do attitude and an interest in collaborative working opportunities. This role would be perfect for a Highway Designer with at least 3 years of experience, looking for the next step in their career and to develop their skillset with an established growing company. The main responsibilities of this role will be to provide highway designs to support an existing transport planning team that will include planning stage access designs, designs of road layouts, and active travel connections. You will be expected to be both proficient with technical aspects and have the commercial awareness to provide designs both of high quality and in accordance with client requirements and timescales. This role can be based in our Bristol, Cardiff or Plymouth offices and will feed into the growing team in the Southwest and Wales region. What you need to do to be effective in this role Provision of high quality design drawings Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design Liaising with the Project Partner / Manager and client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project Assisting in the resolution of complex technical issues Document management, including drawing registers Providing transport planning advice to colleagues and clients The skills and experience you need to have for this role Skills in CAD, road safety engineering, and junction design Awareness of relevant design standards including Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, and LTN 1/20. xehkeey Relevant experience to role responsibilities, including having worked on a range of projects across residential, commercial, and public sectors, (preferably within the UK) which will be discussed at interview Personal Attributes Commercial awareness and the confidence, ability and experience to provide clear, authoritative advice Be client focused with good interpersonal skills and collaborative working approach with a high level of commitment to quality You will be a team player, self-starter and problem solver with 'can-do' attitude You are a confident and outgoing individual
