Job Description

Role: Transport Planner - Irish Network

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 (Negotiable)

Location: Redditch, West Midlands

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday (08.00 - 17:00)


Summary:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising transportation routes to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries.


Key Duties:

  • Plan, organise, and coordinate daily transport schedules and routes
  • Liaise with drivers, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth delivery operations
  • Monitor and track shipments, addressing any delays or issues
  • Optimise routing to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Ensure compliance with safety and transport regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, schedules, and transport activities
  • Provide regular updates to the operations team and management


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in transport planning or logistics (preferred)
  • Previous experience in Irish planning in particular
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of transport and logistics regulations
  • Familiarity with route planning software and tracking systems (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and priorities
