They have built a solid reputation for delivering reliable and innovative engineering solutions that enable successful development across a diverse portfolio of projects nationwide.Position DutiesManage and deliver small to medium transport planning projects, including budget and time managementPrepare, review, and occasionally approve technical reports such as Transport Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans, and Access AppraisalsPrepare more detailed reports, including Transport Assessments and Modelling NotesUndertake access appraisals, design access options, and review planning drawing requirements (visibility splays, vehicle tracking, access design)Apply transport policy, design guidance, and local planning regulations to projectsConduct site visits independently and provide professional opinions to inform scheme developmentAttend and contribute to project team, client, Local Highway Authority, and public consultation meetingsIdentify and propose mitigation measures to address highway capacity and active travel issuesLiaise with clients, planners, architects, and highway officers, maintaining professional working relationshipsPrepare fee proposals for projects and contribute to larger project proposalsSupport business development initiatives and attend networking events as requiredAssist colleagues in marketing initiatives, maintaining client satisfaction and quality standardsProvide guidance and support to other team members as requiredWork effectively both independently and collaboratively within the teamEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality management systems (QMS)Position Requirements Degree-level qualification or equivalent experienceIdeally working towards membership of a relevant professional organisationAt least 2 years' experience in transport planningProficiency in AutoCAD, TRICS, and transport modelling softwareExperience preparing and reviewing technical reports such as Transport Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans, and Access AppraisalsExperience preparing more detailed documents such as Transport Assessments and Modelling NotesExperience managing small to medium-sized projects, including budget and time managementExperience working with local authorities, architects, and plannersExperience undertaking site visits and providing professional opinionsExperience preparing fee proposals for small to medium projects and contributing to larger projectsExperience supporting business development, marketing initiatives, and networking eventsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritise workload, work effectively both independently and as part of a teamCompetence with computer-based systems, including Microsoft OfficeAbility to apply national and local transport policy and design guidance appropriatelyAbility to undertake access appraisals, design access options, and review planning drawing requirements (visibility splays, vehicle tracking, access design)Understanding of trip generation, distribution, and mitigation measures for capacity or active travel improvementsAbility to attend and contribute to client, project team, and Local Highway Authority meetingsProfessional judgement to contribute to early-stage scheme developmentProblem-solving skills and adaptability to support colleagues and cover project responsibilitiesAbility to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholdersCommitment to confidentiality, professional conduct, and company policiesPosition Remuneration 5-hour workdays with flexible working hours, with a core hour requirement allowing for lifestyle and work life balance24 days annual leave, increasing with length of service plus 8 bank holidaysDay off on your birthday if it falls on a working dayOne community or charity day a year to allow you to support the person projects you loveSalary sacrifice scheme with the opportunity to purchase or sell annual leave days.Christmas shut downQuarterly and yearly bonus schemes, offering the potential to earn morePrivate healthcare upon completion of probation periodBike to work schemeStreamline Search is a technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the United Kingdom.
