Major GPS are on the search for a Transport Planner to join the Transport Division assisting/coordinating with the running of a fleet of over 150 vehicles, being controlled from 3 manufacturing sites and 7 out-bases across the UK.
Our client is a market leading, fast-paced manufacturing company completing over 5,000 deliveries nationwide each week.
As Transport Planner, we are interested in chatting with professional people who are keen to develop a career within a busy transport department, planning and completing general administration overseeing around 200 drivers.
Key responsibilities:
* Assisting with planning the drivers and fleet both onsite and at the regional out-based depots to achieve set planned deliveries nationwide.
* Efficient routing of the fleet to maximise and maintain customer service whilst ensuring legal compliance with driver working hours and fuel utilisation.
* Assisting the rest of the team in other functions within the office.
Required Skills/Experience:
* Interest in starting a career within the distribution sector
* A high level of customer service.
* A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
* Able to manage your own work time to achieve timed daily duties.
* Able to work within a small team.
* Able to pass instructions on directly to the drivers.
The position comes with a generous salary and package, the working hours are Monday to Friday -8.30am-5.00pm. Hybrid work available upon completion of training.
