Job Title: Trainee Quantity Surveyor
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £27,000 – £30,000
Permanent / Full-Time
We are working with a highly reputable and well-established construction and development business, part of a major UK group, known for delivering high-quality residential and regeneration projects.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or entry-level candidate looking to build a long-term career within Quantity Surveying, with full support, training and clear progression.
Overview
This role will suit someone who is genuinely interested in building a career within Quantity Surveying and commercial construction.
You will gain hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle, supporting experienced Surveyors with cost management, subcontractor procurement and commercial reporting.
The business has a strong track record of developing talent internally, with clear progression routes and structured development.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with subcontractor procurement and tender processes
Preparing and reviewing scopes of work and trade packages
Supporting with cost reporting and financial tracking
Assisting with subcontractor payments and variations
Attending site meetings and supporting project delivery
Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
Supporting with final accounts and commercial documentationThe Ideal Candidate
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Economics, Maths, Project Management or similar
Strong interest in pursuing a career in Quantity Surveying
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Commercially aware with good numerical ability
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
Motivated, proactive and able to work in a team environmentDesirable
Any construction, site or commercial experience (placement, or part-time)
Understanding of construction processes or cost management
