Trainee Machine Operator Polyamide Extrusion

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our polyamide extrusion department. If you have experience with polyamide or engineering thermoplastics, plastic extrusion, or mechanical engineering, this is a great opportunity to work with advanced materials and play a key role in maintaining product quality and production efficiency.

What You’ll Do

* Operate and monitor polyamide extrusion lines, ensuring output, quality, and safety targets are consistently achieved.

* Set up and adjust extrusion parameters including temperature profiles, screw speed, and feed rates to maintain optimal polyamide processing conditions.

* Handle and prepare polyamide raw materials, ensuring correct drying, blending, and loading procedures.

* Conduct in-process quality checks, record production data, and report any deviations or issues promptly.

* Support new product trials and process improvements alongside engineers and supervisors.

* Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety standards across the extrusion area.

* Follow ISO procedures, H&S requirements, and polymer handling protocols at all times.

What We’re Looking For

* Previous experience in plastics manufacturing, ideally polyamide extrusion or injection moulding.

* Understanding of extrusion machinery, material drying, and melt flow behaviour.

* Transferable mechanical or technical background (e.g., mechanical engineering, CNC operation, or maintenance).

* Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive attitude.

* Willingness to work within a rotating shift pattern and contribute to a team-focused environment.

* Rotating shift pattern (better balance with fewer nights):

* Mon–Fri: 6am–2pm

* Mon–Fri: 2pm–10pm

* Mon–Thurs: 9:30pm–6:30am

* Overtime opportunities to significantly boost earnings
