About the Role
Our Financial Services Regulatory (FSR) team provides expert legal advice on UK financial regulation, supporting Société Générale's UK entities including SGIL and SGLB. You will be at the forefront of horizon scanning for regulatory and legal developments, analyzing how changes affect the bank's activities, and preparing clear, concise summaries to inform the business and legal teams. This is a unique opportunity to develop your technical legal analysis skills and gain strategic insight into complex regulatory frameworks.
What You Will Do
- Monitor and identify new laws and regulatory changes impacting Société Générale's UK operations
- Prepare and publish regulatory update summaries used across the bank's forums and teams
- Apply UK banking law to a variety of business scenarios, including cross-border transactions
- Support senior lawyers by drafting and reviewing regulatory documentation and correspondence
- Conduct detailed legal research to assist internal clients and the legal team
- Take part in team meetings, prepare minutes, and assist with administrative tasks
- Potentially present regulatory insights at internal forums, leveraging strong communication skills
