Trainee Engineering Support

The Role
My client is looking for a technically minded individual to support the Technical Manager with customer-facing and internal engineering tasks.
This role is key in handling technical enquiries, coordinating quotations, and keeping clear communication between customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the main point of contact for customers, prospects, and internal teams, ensuring enquiries are handled quickly and accurately.

* Check and validate new technical requests, including drawings, specifications, materials, and pricing.

* Coordinate timely responses to customer enquiries with accurate technical and commercial information.

* Keep CRM records up to date, including pricing, enquiry outcomes, sector information, and success rates.

* Work with Purchasing to confirm material availability and costs.

* Use calculation tools to assess component performance and functionality.

Skills & Experience

Able to read and understand engineering/technical drawings.

Can use basic calculation or validation tools to check how parts will work.

Support with part preparation, production set-up, and creating quotations.

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.

Good communication skills and works well with colleagues and customers.

This role is ideal for someone with a technical mindset, organised, and interested in building a career in engineering or manufacturing.

Salary
£22,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
