We have a current opportunity for a Trading Floor Desktop Support Engineer on a permanent basis. The position will be based in London. For further information about this position please apply.
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer‑focused Trading Floor Desktop Support Engineer to support a high‑pressure front‑office environment. You will work directly with traders, quants, and analysts to ensure all desktop, application, data, and connectivity issues are resolved rapidly with minimal impact to trading activity.
A strong ability to troubleshoot Excel‑based pricing sheets and formula logic is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L1/L2 desktop and application support to traders and other front‑office users Troubleshoot issues related to Windows 11, O365, Outlook, network connectivity and hardware Support and maintain trading turrets, dealer boards, and voice systems Rapidly troubleshoot Excel pricing sheets, including broken formulas, incorrect references, or data link issues Assist with market data add‑ins (Bloomberg API, ICE, CME add‑ins) Manage incident tickets and escalate where appropriate Perform desktop builds, upgrades, and deployments using enterprise tools Support trading floor moves, device rollout projects, and hardware refresh plans Work closely with infrastructure, network, app support, and dev engineering teams Participate in shift patterns or on‑call rotations as needed Ability to create clear KB documentation
Required Skills & Experience
2-5+ years' desktop or trade‑floor support experience Strong understanding of Windows OS, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Advanced Excel debugging including formula tracing, named ranges, dependency checking Ability to communicate effectively with front‑office users Experience in a financial services or fast‑paced trading environment Basic understanding of ITIL processesDesirable Skills
Familiarity with Excel-based pricing models used in front‑office teams Turret / voice trading systems (Cloud9) SCCM/Intune PowerShell scripting Basic networking (DHCP, DNS, VLANs) Understanding of equities, FX, fixed income, or derivatives workflows ITIL Foundation SQL query building basic levelPersonal Attributes
