Job Title: Town Planner Location: London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their London office.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Town Planner to work on a wide range of high-profile projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will gain exposure to all stages of the planning process while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

THE ROLE

As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission and determination. You will manage your own smaller projects while supporting senior team members on larger, more complex schemes, gaining valuable client-facing experience and developing your technical expertise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing planning applications from start to finish Preparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documents Conducting site appraisals and planning policy research Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and other key stakeholders Attending client meetings and project discussions Supporting project coordination and delivery Assisting with business development and networking activitiesThe Town Planner will work closely with senior colleagues to gain insight into planning strategies, procedures, and best practice, while building professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority desirable Strong understanding of the UK planning system Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational and time management abilities Proactive, commercially aware, and client-focused mindsetWHAT'S ON OFFER
