Job Title: Senior Town Planner Location: Manchester Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and forward-thinking planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team. With offices based in Manchester and Leeds, this dynamic consultancy delivers a wide and interesting range of projects across the UK. Their portfolio spans residential, commercial, education, retail & leisure, hospitality, and a variety of other exciting sectors, offering the successful candidate excellent exposure to diverse and high-quality work. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to take on greater responsibility and play a key role in project delivery, client management, and mentoring junior team members within a supportive and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: * Leading and managing planning applications and appeals * Providing strategic planning advice to a diverse client base * Managing projects across multiple sectors from inception to completion * Building and maintaining strong client relationships * Mentoring and supporting junior planners * Engaging with stakeholders, consultants, and local authorities The ideal candidate will demonstrate: * A relevant planning degree (or equivalent) * MRTPI status (or close to achieving) * Strong experience within a consultancy or local authority setting * Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills * A proactive, commercially aware, and client-focused approach In return, the successful candidate will join a respected consultancy that offers genuine career progression, a friendly and collaborative culture, and the opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of high-profile projects.
