Job Title: Town Planner\n Location: Newcastle\n\nPenguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Newcastle.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Town Planner to join a well-established consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will benefit from strong client exposure and the chance to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.\n\nTHE ROLE\n\nAs a Town Planner, you will be involved in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission and determination.\n\nYou will manage your own smaller schemes while supporting senior team members on more complex developments, building your experience and expertise as a Town Planner within a collaborative team.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n* Managing smaller planning applications from start to finish\n * Supporting senior planners on larger and more complex projects\n * Preparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documentation\n * Undertaking site appraisals and planning policy research\n * Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders\n * Attending client meetings, site visits, and consultations\n * Supporting project coordination and delivery\n * Assisting with business development and networking activities\n\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR\n\n* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline\n * MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership\n * Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority\n * Strong understanding of the UK planning system\n * Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n * Strong organisational and time management abilities\n * A proactive and motivated approach\n\nWHAT'S ON OFFER\n\n* Competitive salary and benefits package\n * Opportunity to work on a wide range of planning projects\n * Supportive and collaborative team environment\n * Clear career progression opportunities\n * Ongoing professional development and support towards MRTPI\n\nInterested?
