ABOUT THE CLIENT
I’m supporting a respected consultancy operating across the UK planning and built environment sector. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to appoint a Planner to join their Newcastle team and support on a diverse mix of projects. The business is known for its collaborative culture and strong professional development framework.

THE PLANNER ROLE:
As a Planner, you’ll work closely with senior colleagues to deliver high-quality planning advice, reporting, and project support. You’ll assist with research, appraisals, preparation of planning applications, liaison with local authorities, and client communication. The role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience across development management, policy, and strategic planning work, building confidence and responsibility as you progress.
PLANNER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Degree in Town Planning or related discipline with 1–3 years of experience Strong understanding of planning principles and current policy Ability to prepare planning reports, appraisals, and application documents Confident communicator with good written skills Proactive approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement Genuine interest in pursuing a long-term planning career
